LONDON, 8th June 2023 – Military spouse entrepreneurs face unique challenges as they balance the demands of military life with their business aspirations. To provide invaluable guidance, Jessica Sands, founder of the Milspo Network CIC, has authored a new book titled “Building Business Beyond The Magnolia Box.” The book launched with a real-life event on June 7th, 2023, at the historic Battle of Britain Bunker Uxbridge, and supported by Amazon Apprenticeships, and attended by military personnel, partners and Lady Knighton, wife of the Chief of the Airstaff.

“Building Business Beyond The Magnolia Box” is a comprehensive guidebook that offers practical strategies and advice for military spouse entrepreneurs looking to build successful businesses. Drawing on her own experiences as a military spouse and successful entrepreneur, Jessica Sands provides actionable insights to help navigate the challenges of military life while growing a thriving business.

The book covers a wide range of topics relevant to military spouse entrepreneurs, including how to start a business, marketing and promoting strategies, time management, self-care, building a network, finding support, and accessing resources. Additionally, “Building Business Beyond The Magnolia Box” features inspiring stories and case studies of successful military spouse entrepreneurs who have overcome challenges and achieved their business goals.

To celebrate the book launch, Jessica Sands hosted a real-life event at the Battle of Britain Bunker Uxbridge on June 7th, 2023. The event, sponsored by Amazon Apprenticeships, was an exciting occasion, providing opportunities for networking, engaging discussions, and a chance to meet others from the community building their businesses. For those who were unable to attend in person, an online event will be held on Zoom on June 13th, 2023, offering a convenient way to participate in the book launch from anywhere in the world.

“I am thrilled to launch ‘Building Business Beyond The Magnolia Box’ and share my insights and experiences with fellow Milspo entrepreneurs,” said Jessica Sands. “This book is a roadmap to help all military spouses, partners and other-halves overcome the unique challenges we face while pursuing our entrepreneurial dreams – to help us build a business that thrives in a modern military world. I must offer huge thanks to those who attended, especially the team from Amazon Apprenticeships and Lady Knighton, for recognising the importance of our serving spouse community and the vital contribution they make to both the operational efficiency of our UK Armed Forces and the UK economy as a whole”.
